This afternoon it was 2F (-17C) and snowing, but I decided I had to get out and look for some photos. At about 4:30pm (with sunset at 5:50pm), I went to Gallup Park which is where the Huron river widens out and there’s an island or two. It’s where in the summer one of the canoe rentals ends. Right now the river is all frozen. I thought this bridge disappearing in the snow might be interesting – took this photo first with the digital, then went back to the car and got the 35mm and used that, and swapped it in turn for the Silvestri. When I’d finished with that, I looked up and you couldn’t see the bridge! I then drove back 5o yards round the corner and the snow had abated, you could see a patch of clear sky and the bridge was clearly visible!!
I had two pairs of socks on, but my toes still got cold, as did my fingers. I was wearing three sweaters and thermal underwear, so the rest of me was fine. The biggest problem was my breath steaming onto my glasses all the time.
