We awoke to find the first (dusting of) snow on the ground. Looks like it will snow for most of the day. Hasn’t been sticking on the roads, and by mid-afternoon despite continuing flurries, most of the snow on the grass has gone too.

This is the photo I took with my 28mm lens – it was somewhere around sunset and I exposed for the sky and even the D700 has noise in the grass. This is not exactly, but sort of just across the road from us. The goal posts are gone now – no soccer in the winter. And you can’t see it in this photo, but there is a slope down from the sidewalk into the school field, and when the snow is deep and hard enough, everyone will be sledding down the hill (I’ve even managed to get down on occasion a few years).
