Late last week we got word from our favorite bed and breakfast in Saugatuck that there had been a cancelation and we were able to get away for a nice weekend by Lake Michigan.
We stopped on the way for lunch in Kalamazoo and a visit to the Art Museum. Before dinner, I went out to where the Blue Star Highway crosses the Kalamazoo River. Jill had been taken with the color of the rushes there. While I was struggling to get a good composition including them, I saw this fisherman coming back up the river and this is from just after he emerged on the south side of the bridge. Finding dinner turned out to be a bit of struggle, as so much of the town is still closed for winter, but it worked out well in the end.
Next day we made a couple of visits to Oval Beach. I’d only made a brief visit before, but this time I was able to explore all along the beach and up the river entrance channel. Lots of photographs, still need to look through them.
