A holiday weekend. Martin has come to visit. And he’s brought his camera! We decided Matthaei Botanical Gardens would be a good place to see. They had a great display of flowers at the gardens proper, but for some reason no inspiration. We went for a hike along the trails instead.

We started out alongside Fleming Creek and I was able to make a number of promising photographs there. Another one is in the 2017 calendar.

We weren’t sure which trail to follow for the return, and ended up passing the red barns for the first time in years. We had some debate over what might make a photograph here, and this is one of my more successful efforts.
