The thought struck me today, like a lightning bolt, that if I am back to blogging again, then I really need to be writing some blog posts!
I have been out a few times this month with the camera; just locally, short walks. This first photo is of the Argo dam and the Ann Arbor Railroad. Until quite recently, this view wasn’t available, as I am standing on what used to be private, DTE land. What they call “the riverfront tunnel pathway” now connects downtown, or at least this end of 5th Street, to the trails around the Huron River. This is after you emerge from the tunnel on the river side.
This other photo was taken on a short walk through the nearby Eberwhite Woods. This photo is not so bad, but this walk has finally convinced me that no matter how “unnatural”, or in any other way undesirable, it has become to carry a tripod, I absolutely need one. Apart from my efforts to lighten everything before my surgery, part of my reluctance I think results from one of the legs not being totally functional, ever since it came apart when I was last in Scotland in 2019. Every so often I look at getting a new one, but as yet nothing convinces, and besides, the old one is still serviceable. I just need to carry it with me again.
