Final stop on my quick visit to the UK was to stay with an old friend from our days at HP who now lives just outside Bristol. I was able to travel directly from York to Bristol by train.
I was intrigued by just how much the mud exposed at low tide at Sand Bay was reminiscent of the limestone pavement at Malham Cove. Maybe in a few hundred million years they will look the same.
Cheddar Gorge is again limestone though maybe only a couple of hundred million years old. We tried to hike around the rim to get a better sense of the cliffs.
