On the way back from another hard day out photographing with David Ward in Connemara, we were intrigued by the sight of an island in Derryclare Lough. At first we weren’t sure we could get out to it, but there was a walkway that made it possible. I think this first photo is from the walkway.
On the way back to the bus, I was intrigued by these rushes by the side of the lough. There was a bit of a breeze blowing; I didn’t want any resulting blur to detract from the photo, so I got down low and tried to make them the feature of the photo. Not sure if it worked though. That’s the same tress on Pine Island you can see in the background.
