Nowadays my photography so often seems so dependent on the tripod, and I’m accompanied by a bag of lenses, that I find it’s refreshing occasionally to just head off with camera in hand and the one lens that’s on the camera. There’s less “perfection” (you live in hope) and more “spontaneity” (still hoping).
Frequently this happens when I walk downtown (Ann Arbor). At this time of year so many people have great displays of flowers in their front yards. This was a particularly good walk I think.
