When I was touring Scotland in March, I had with me 4 sample prints. They were smallish, each printed on half a sheet of letter paper, but on the Canson-Infinity PrintMaKing Rag that I like. They weren’t of Scotland, but attempted to show what I might take on my travels. Two were from Connemara last summer, and two from Great Falls National Park (Potomac River) near Washington, DC in January.
I showed them to lots of people, well almost everybody I met, gallery owners, artists, B&B owners, photography professors, and more.
When I returned to Ann Arbor, one day when I was in town, I showed them to a collector/dealer friend, and he said ‘how much, for all 4?’. I was more than surprised, and since I’d never intended/expected to sell small prints like that, I had to ask for time to work out a price. Which I had done by the next time we met, and with that agreed, I made him a fresh set of prints. Very flattering and pleasing.
