I took the bus up, literally straight up, to Lynden. All this long road is on the flat, and then when you get to Lynden, it just rises slightly; good move, there were more than a few fields waterlogged along the way. From the back of Front St, I could photograph the mountains to the south-east, though the peak of Mt Baker was lost in the clouds.
I was there for an Audubon talk at the library on planting your garden to help insects and birds prosper. I was also able to visit the Jansen Arts Center, which is a fabulous place with studios for almost every type of art making. I was there especially to check out the weaving facilities and Lisa Christianson was a great host/guide.
